What makes rituals so special?<\/b><\/h4>\n

Rituals are much more than recurring actions. They are moments of transformation. They help you break away from old habits and open yourself up to a greater context in life. It is not about consolidating what already exists, but about embracing the unknown and returning to everyday life transformed after a profound experience.<\/p>\n

Quality and ethics: designing rituals with responsibility<\/b><\/h4>\n

Rituals are much more than relics of ancient times or esoteric games \u2013 they are deeply rooted in our human culture. They structure transitions, provide stability and create identity. Their transformative power has long been scientifically recognised. In management research, for example, studies have been conducted for years on how rituals can support leadership, cooperation and change processes \u2013 the book \u201e<\/i>Leadership needs rituals<\/i><\/a>\u201c (Vahlen, 2011)<\/i> is just one of many examples that demonstrate their role as effective tools in the modern world.<\/p>\n

But rituals are not inherently good or healing \u2013 they are spaces of transformation in which meaning is created, but can also be appropriated. In Germany in particular, we have a historical responsibility to view rituals critically. During National Socialism, ritual customs were deliberately used to manipulate the masses, promote obedience and anchor an ideology that caused immeasurable suffering. Rituals are not neutral \u2013 their effect depends on how and for what purpose they are designed.<\/p>\n

That is precisely why it is important to us not to view the ARLINA ritual dogmatically or ideologically. Our approach is deliberately reflective, open and critical of the times. We believe that in an era of polycrisis<\/i> \u2013 with multiple, overlapping crises such as climate change, social division, geopolitical conflicts and the growing exhaustion of many people \u2013 a conscious, responsible practice of rituals can be an essential resource. They can help to deal with uncertainty, create meaning and develop new forms of coexistence.<\/p>\n

What we lack \u2013 both individually and as a society \u2013 is not more control or perfection, but a living practice of change. Rituals offer us spaces in which change is not only thought about, but also experienced<\/i> They enable transitions, strengthen resilience and open up new perspectives. Not as rigid guidelines, but as dynamic processes that help us shape a future that is characterised not by fear, but by awareness, connectedness and the will to create.<\/p>\n

Our aim is to design rituals responsibly: with an awareness of their impact, openness to different approaches and respect for each individual's personal experience. Rituals are not an end in themselves \u2013 they are tools for what we want to achieve together.<\/p>\n
